Supergirl Comes To Lego Dimensions Starter Pack

Supergirl is being added to the wide cast of licensed characters that make up Lego Dimensions, but not in the way you might assume. Until now additional characters have been made available to everyone in the form of add-on packs, but that’s not what WB Interactive is doing with Supergirl. For some reason they’re adding her to the starter pack instead, so if you want her despite already owning the game, you’ll be forced to double-dip.

At least that’s the situation for the time being. Supergirl will be made available separately in 2017, but again, in a different manner. “Next year, Supergirl will be available as a “Hire-a-Hero,” a feature in LEGO Dimensions that allows players to sample characters using studs collected in the game,” WB told Kotaku. “Players can select the hologram minifigures near certain keystones to unlock characters for a limited time to try out their special abilities to solve problems and complete puzzles.”

If you can get Supergirl, WB promises she possesses all the powers that you get while playing Superman (so if you can’t get her, just play as Superman). There’s one twist though: she’ll have the bonus ability to transform into the evil Red Lantern Supergirl and blast bolts of rage at everyone, plus create giant red constructs with the Power Ring.

The Supergirl version of the Starter Pack will begin arriving in stores next month.
