Not the “new” Melissa McCarthy-helmed Ghostbusters….I’m talking about the original guys! The Ghostbusters franchise will be added to Lego Dimensions with some new sets and packs. WB Interactive announced the upcoming release recently at Gamescom.
The bustin’ action will roll out as follows: two “fun packs” will be released, one themed around Slimer (with a Slime Shooter weapon) and the other themed around the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man (who gets one of Gozer’s dogs to ride on).
There will also be a deluxe level pack that’ll include a Peter Venkman figure, the Ecto-1 and a ghost trap, as well as a new level in the game based on the original movie. Prices weren’t discussed for these things, but the level packs usually go for $30.
Warner Bros. took the occasion of the Ghostbusters announcement to reveal a central mode to Lego Dimensions: Adventure Worlds. These are described by them as “open-world environments where players will be able to explore, race, collect gold bricks, unlock secrets, and explore classic locations.” There will be an Adventure World for every property in Lego Dimensions, but you’ll need a figure from that property to unlock them.
Lego Dimensions comes out September 27 for Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3.
