Notch as joined the ranks of such bright lights as Valve Co-Founder Gabe Newell on Forbes’ list of the world’s wealthiest people.
Notch and Newell tied for 1,415th, with their total net worth being about $1.3 billion each. Notch was put on the map by recently selling Mojang and Minecraft to Microsoft in a $2.5 billion sale. Notch owned 70 percent of Mojang and was expected to make 1.75 billion off the deal. And Gabe Newell’s Valve created Steam, that thing that replaced the PC game section at your video game store.
Don’t worry, Notch is enjoying all that money. As Forbes recently reported, he’s spending $180,000 a night out at clubs, bought a $70 million mansion with a candy room and has tricked out an amazing fantasy office for his new company, Rubberbrain.
