Minecraft Wii U Edition

Wii U Minecraft Might Not Use The Gamepad, But It DOES Have….

on

Still sore over Mojang’s revelation yesterday that the Wii U version of Minecraft will not be utilizing the only reason to make a Wii U version of Minecraft? There is some good news. If a listing on the Japanese Nintendo eShop is to be believed, this version WILL be getting some functions and features not common to most Wii U titles.

When I say this, I’m referring to voice chat. Think of a Wii U game off the top of your head that supports voice chat. Coming up with nothing? Well, Wii U Minecraft will. You’ll speak into the Gamepad mike and your friends will come out the speaker. Will wonders never cease?

This version will also be compatible with the Wii U Pro Controller, which is fortunate, as if they’re not going to utilize the Gamepad well, there’s not much point in using it at all. Plus, it’ll have USB keyboard compatibility, which makes up for the lack of item shuffling on the Gamepad a little bit (but not a lot).

Minecraft for Wii U launches in one week on the Nintendo eShop. It’ll include six DLC packs that had to be bought separately on other systems, but this version is playing catch-up.
