It’s not news that Scooby-Doo is one of the launch properties for WB Interactive’s new game Lego Dimensions. This was known from the beginning, and why wouldn’t it happen? Since Scooby-Doo is a property WB owns outright, the use costs them nothing.
They’ve gone the extra mile here of animating a cartoon short to promote the game. This video tells you all about the gameplay in Lego Dimensions, the Starter Pack, and how it all works. Plus, you get to hear the voice of GLaDOS in a Scooby cartoon, which is completely surreal. Unfortunately Shaggy’s voice sounds completely wrong, and he will henceforth always sound wrong, now that Casey Kasem is no longer with us.
Warner Bros. has also announced a new Scooby Doo animated movie has entered production, with a launch date of September 21, 2018. Dan Povenmire, co-creator of Phineas and Ferb, is slated to direct.
Lego Dimensions will be available September 27th on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
