Minecraft Diamonds

This Infographic Might Make You Feel Better About Not Finding Diamonds

This promotional infographic created by metallurgist firm 911 Metallurgist compares Minecraft diamonds to real-life diamonds, providing a few interesting factoids.

Details include comparing the myriad colors of real-world diamonds to the Minecraft option, blue, which in real life would signify a boron impurity. The infographic also comes to the conclusion that diamonds in Minecraft melt at a much lower temperature than real diamonds because they can be destroyed in lava. This must be true, how else could we make them into sweet armor.

It also makes the point that whether you’re digging in the game or in the real world, diamonds are rare either way. But of course in Minecraft it’s a little bit easier than starting your own diamond mine. Just dig a little deeper and eventually you’ll turn some up.
