Notch might have killed Oculus Rift support for Minecraft in a fit of disgust when Facebook bought the company, but there are still people out there who are experimenting with Minecraft and VR.

Here’s an ad for a virtual reality treadmill called the Virtuix Omni that shows someone exploring a Game of Thrones Minecraft World, WesterosCraft, using the device. They walk along The Wall, a huge 300 mile fortification that features heavily in the show as something intended to keep the bad and wild things out.

It looks slightly dorky while you’re playing it, but I guess while you’re inside and getting the full feeling of being there in the Minecraft version of Westeros you won’t care. Also, this is not for people that have a problem with vertigo, as will become clear when the demonstrator looks down..

Minecraft is a perfect platform for virtual reality experimentation, because it allows you to quickly build your own worlds. Hopefully we will see an increasing number of developers make use of it.
